† Dylan Sullivan - Adoptive Father
Dylan was a fine man, and he adored his family, but when his wife was no longer able to conceive children, they took on adopting a child, one that came from a broken home. They were under the impression that Cas had come from a home that was abusive, and they were taking in a child that would have problems. When Cas exhibited unusual behavior by talking to himself at first, they thought it was normal, but as Cas grew older Dylan's caring nature turned. Always saying that Cas needed to grow up and stop talking to himself. He was always ashamed and embarrassed as time progressed and even resorted to calling him a 'mistake' or saying 'wish we never had you'. Despite those words and unkind things that were spoken to him Cas would always try and do things that would please him. He tried his best in school, he tried making friends, and he tried hiding his gift from him. His father worked in the police force, and it was always Cas' dreams to try and get himself to the point in life where he could become just like him in hopes that Cas would get that 'I'm proud' of you moment. Their relationship was extremely rocky, even when Cas did thing his father would approve of him, he would never tell him or give him the gratification that he was in fact impressed. Ultimately it was Dylan's decision to put Cas into a mental home, claiming that he was getting rid of the problem that would never be fixed.

† Charlotte Sullivan - Adoptive Mother
Charlotte was a kind and caring young woman. She was a homemaker, she worked out of the home selling Mary Kay and hoped to be a stay at home mom and help her kids through rough patches. She cared deeply about her family, and even when they brought Cas into their home. Even with the rough parts and the unkind things that Dylan said she tried her best to care for the young boy. But just as it did with Dylan enough was enough. She couldn’t take Cas’ antics of saying he could see and speak to people they couldn’t see. She believed that the child they brought into their home was a serial killer in the making. Her and Dylan would fight on what they should do about his situation and where she didn’t want to at first, she agreed to send Cas to a mental institution. She believed there was no way she would be able to love a child with such complications and issues. Cas tried to do his best to make her proud as well, whenever he drew something, he always wondered why his sister’s drawings were displayed but his never were for very long. He knew his mother tried, but in the end, he knew deep down she was just lying from the moment that those doors closed and separated them she breathed a sigh of relief. Glad to be rid of the problem she wished they never adopted.

Emma Sullivan – Millar - Adoptive Sister
Emma was ten when Cas was first brought into the family. She was told by both of her parents to never speak of or tell Cas that they were his new family, and that he was her brother. At first, she wasn’t happy about the new edition to their family, but from the quirky things and mischief her and Cas were always getting into she realized it was so bad having him around. Even when she thought it was odd that he spoke to himself, she never commented on it or made of him for it. She tried to be supportive and tell him it was okay that he was the way he was even though their parents thought that he needed to stop. When her parents decided to put him into the mental hospital she was the only one that was truly upset. There were days where she would try calling to talk to him just to see how he was doing, or she would be the only one that would talk to him when he called. She always promised that they would still be the best of friends when he was released. Even though that changed over the years he was in there, and when he was finally released she didn’t want to have anything to do with him. Thinking he was an embarrassment and afraid that her own friends would make fun of her if they ever found out where Cas had been. This put a rift into their relationship that would soon mend over time, even though there wasn’t a loving sibling bond between the two Emma realized that her brother needed her and attempted once again to create a bond once Rick was born. She believe that Rick needed his Uncle in his life.
